Today I’m answering a reader question from Eddie who has some questions/concerns about his sex drive and his ability to stay erect during sex. Read on for the full question and my reply.

I have 3 questions/challenges I really hope you can help me!
1. My sexual drive is very low and I can have an orgasm but my penis is not anywhere close to rock hard, Please advise… Viagra doesn’t seem to do much!
2. I do ejaculate, but not with a lot of intensity and not with a lot of sperm and when I do, I immediately shrink down and its kinda hard to get it back up!
3. I have a small penis approx. 5 inches and average size girth. This has always bothered me cause I don’t feel like I turn on my wife with my penis!

Hey Eddie,
Definitely talk to your doctor before taking supplements but here are a few you can try:
L-arginine – it’s an amino acid that will increase the level of Nitric Oxide in your blood and will help relax the blood vessels in the body to increase blood flow. This is good for overall health as well.
Maca – is an herb known as an adaptogen. Adaptogen herbs such as Maca help your body deal with stress. Maca has a bunch of other health benefits as well including dilating the blood vessels as well as increase libido and healthier semen without affecting sexual hormones. Herbs like Maca are good for overall well being with the added benefit of increasing sexual drive.
Supplements or pills can only do so much. You said in your email that you work really hard and you are under a lot of stress. Stress is the number one killer of sexual libido. If you are not getting enough GOOD sleep and you are carrying a lot of stress in your body your body will literally stop producing hormones such as testosterone which you need for a healthy sex drive.
Try taking a Melatonin supplement (no more than 1mg) to increase the quality of sleep your body gets. Melatonin is a hormone, like testosterone, both of which decrease as you age. Supplementing Melatonin as you get older helps bring your levels of other hormones such as testosterone back into balance. And of course make sure you get at least 8 hours of sleep per night. I know it sounds simple but most people don’t get as much rest as they need and when they actually do it makes a world of difference.
If you carry a lot of stress in your body your sex drive will go down and your ability to get an erection will be difficult. You might consider massage to relieve any tension you may be carrying in your body. Regular exercise, while easy to over look in our busy lifestyle, is extremely important in helping your body deal with stress. Regular exercise will also pump up your testosterone.
In order to get harder erections and shoot your ejaculate with more intensity you might want to consider doing Kegel exercises for men. A strong PC muscle is very important in sexual health. There’s a couple of links to some general information on Kegel exercise for men inside the member’s area, or you can just do a Google search for “kegel exercises for men”.
Penis size is generally more inside a guy’s head more than anything. Our culture misleads so many men into thinking that women want a big penis. Women are more turned on by a man who can evoke powerful emotions in her rather than anything physical like the size of his penis. I have a client who just emailed me and says he has a 4 inch penis and every woman he’s ever been with thinks he’s the best they’ve ever had. It’s all a mindset. It’s only a self limiting belief if YOU let it be.

I have read that Jelqing exercise is also a natural way to increase the length and girth of penis. Any comments on that ??

@Sam, i do totally agree with you!! it is unbelivable that men think that bigger is better!!! it really hurts, 5″ is fine!! id actually like it if my fiancee’s penis was a couple of inches smaller so it wouldnt hurt . so i dont have to always suggest that we have sex in a position where the penetration isnt that deep!

Eddie, take this advice from a woman who’s ‘been there and done that’. It is not about the size..EVER! Why do guys think 5″ is small?? Our vagina is only 3-5″ long (average) so anything longer than that is usually smacking on the cervix which is ..A) Painful…& B) VERY bad for our feminine health….damage/disturbance to the cervix=bad pap smears, abnormal cells etc and pain! So 5″ is perfect for ‘most’ women, whoever started that ‘big is better’ urban legend should be slapped…and hard..lol.. Ask any woman who’s suffered from an inverted cervix from her man just pounding too hard and deep with no thought of what she might be going through. Don’t take porn movie sex as an example of how to do things…Guy’s..most girls don’t want to scare you off by saying anything but please..take this advice..it hurts..a lot..take it easy..that magical spot Jason talks about isn’t that far inside.. 🙂
